In this extraordinary Musart original, we present the Leonardo da Vinci skateboard triptych, featuring the iconic masterpiece of the Italian High-Renaissance master, the Portrait of Lisa Gherardini, famously known as the Mona Lisa (1503). Currently housed at the Musée du Louvre in Paris, Leonardo's Mona Lisa is not only the world's most famous portrait but also one of the most beloved works in the history of art. According to art historian Giorgio Vasari, the sitter is Lisa di Antonio Maria Gherardini, the wife of the wealthy Florentine merchant, Francesco del Giocondo.
What sets Leonardo's Mona Lisa apart is the absence of extravagant jewelry or lavish attributes that typically identify a sitter as aristocratic. Despite the Renaissance etiquette that dictated women should never make direct eye contact with a man, Leonardo masterfully empowers the sitter with a self-assured gaze that captivates the viewer. The Mona Lisa is depicted seated in a loggia, set against a mysterious and uninhabited landscape, showcasing Leonardo's fascination with atmospheric perspective. His innovative use of sfumato, a technique that creates a soft and hazy effect, has influenced countless artists throughout the ages.
Don't miss the opportunity to own this extraordinary piece from our Musart on Decks collection. It is a testament to Leonardo's genius and his everlasting impact on the world of art.
