Introducing an exclusive limited edition of 100 Michelangelo Skateboard Triptychs, a remarkable addition to Musart' original collection, Musart on Decks. This collection showcases one of the most iconic works by the Italian High-Renaissance artist, Michelangelo, featuring the Creation of Adam Panel from the Sistine Chapel Ceiling Fresco (1511-1512).
The Creation of Adam is one of the central panels of the Sistine Chapel ceiling fresco, depicting the powerful moment when God and Adam confront each other in a primordial landscape. Adam, still connected to the earth, represents the material world, while God transcends it, enveloped in billowing drapery and supported by His divine powers. This masterpiece represents the biblical passage from Genesis 1:26 (NIV), where God says, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." Michelangelo captures the moment when life is bestowed upon Adam, as if a spark leaps from the extended hand of God.
The composition of this artwork guides the viewer's gaze from right to left, with Adam's extended left arm leading the eye back to the right, along with the Lord's arm, shoulders, and left arm pointing towards the face of the Christ Child. Through this deliberate arrangement, Michelangelo vividly exemplifies the Christian doctrine that draws a parallel between Adam, the first man and the cause of humanity's fall, and the subsequent redemption from sin through the sacrifice of Christ, referred to in Scripture as "The New Adam."
