About Almond Blossom
Preceding his death, Van Gogh admitted himself to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence asylum where he painted 150 paintings in his stay of one year. During his stay, the artist created many of his iconic paintings (such as The Starry Night ). While Van Gogh resided in Saint-Rémy, he received a birth announcement indicating the son of his brother, Theo, was born. Theo and Johanna ('Jo') named their son after Vincent, giving him the name of Vincent Willem Van Gogh. As a gift, Van Gogh sent them the special Almond Blossom painting.
