The Skateroom x Jean-Michel Basquiat - Skateboard Triptych - La Hara (1981)
Bringing together tradition and contemporary culture, this Jean-Michel Basquiat Skateboard Triptych features a reproduction of Basquiat's work La Hara (1981). The artwork, which depicts a skeletal police officer, was sold for $35m at Christie's in 2017. The masterpiece was created in 1981, at a pivotal moment when he transitioned from street artist to an art world sensation. He used both acrylic and oilstick on wood panel, and it is one of the few works of white men painted by Basquiat. The artwork depicts a menacing white skeletal figure (a police officer) wearing a peaked cap against a red background.
