The acclaimed French artist Karl Lagasse came into prominence in 2009 with his “One Dollar” sculptures. In 2009, Artprice named Karl as one of the top 10 sculptors under 30 in the world. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh selected Karl for their book FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art in which he is represented as one of the fifty best contemporary artists who found inspiration through traditional American icons. During the 2016 Art Paris Art Fair, the President of the French Republic personally congratulated Karl for the success of his 2-meter bronze “One Dollar” sculpture displayed at the Grand Palais. Lagasse’s work now reaches auction houses across the globe, and has been permanently featured at Bel Air Fine Art’s world renowned gallery alongside legendary artists the likes of Jeff Koons, Banksy, Salvador Dali, Jospeh Killbansky, etc. since 2011. In 2014, he was contracted by Maserati to create a special edition Maserati design to celebrate Maserati’s 100th year in business while promoting the worldwide launching of their new car model, the Ghibli, while and was revealed at the 2014 Paris Art Fair. Lagasse has created statues in multiple cities across the globe, encouraging peace love and humility. Lagasse also created the 2017 and 2020 Deauville American Film Festival Trophy for prize-winners, which included Johnny Depp, Morgan Freeman, and many others. Karl’s work is now a staple in many contemporary art collections including musicians such as Future, A$AP Ferg, etc.
