Kidrobot x Andy Warhol Masterpiece 8 inches Elvis Dunny - Limited Edition

Ever since its first Kidrobot masterpiece, 8 inch Dunny on January 2017, Kidrobot and the Andy Warhol Foundation For The Visual Arts have released over the last 20 months 6 models in tribute to the American 20th-century pop artist who challenged viewers to see to art and the world around us through a different perspective. This exclusive Kidrobot x Andy Warhol Masterpiece 8 inch Elvis Dunny is the lucky number 7 among Kidrobot's Dunny masterpiece collection. A limited edition of only 200 worldwide, this Masterpiece 8 inch Elvis Dunny is inspired in Andy Warhol's 1960's pop culture celebrity series which included icons like Marilyn Monroe, Jacqueline Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor, and the Rock and Roll singer Elvis Presley. Warhol's work Double Elvis (1963) is a silkscreen ink on synthetic polymer paint on canvas, inspired in the singer's feature in the movie Flaming Star. Like in his Marilyn Monroe gold paintings, here Andy Warhol uses a silver background in order to reflect the glamorous icon status of the rock and roll superstar, while also using the color's opacity to easily mask and silkscreen various images on top of each other. Arguably the multiplicity of the Elvis Presley silhouette also reflects the artist's interest in film. This 8 inch tall Dunny is high-quality vinyl figure with a mirror-like chrome finish and comes in a high-quality display Masterpiece window box.  More details on Kidrobot x Andy Warhol Masterpiece 8 inch Elvis Dunny:

Pop Culture artwork by Andy Warhol Andy Warhol is without a doubt the first name to come to mind when thinking about the Pop Art culture. His iconic work focused mainly on celebrity culture, artistic expression, and advertisement, which were all prominent in the 1960s. He utilized a variety of media including hand drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, silk screening, sculpture, film, and music. Warhol also lived openly as a homosexual man before the gay liberation movement began. He had His Factory, where intellectuals, drag queens, playwrights, Bohemian street people, Hollywood celebrities, and wealthy patrons would collaborate. The Pop Artist produced extraordinarily valuable pieces, including some of the most expensive paintings ever to be sold. While never traditionally thought of as a popular consumer product before, Warhol’s work opened up the ideas of mass-production and mass-appeal into the art world.
