A limited edition of only 200 worldwide, this Masterpiece 8 inch Elvis Dunny is inspired in Andy Warhol's 1960's pop culture celebrity series which included icons like Marilyn Monroe, Jacqueline Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor, and the Rock and Roll singer Elvis Presley. Warhol's work Double Elvis (1963) is a silkscreen ink on synthetic polymer paint on canvas, inspired in the singer's feature in the movie Flaming Star. Like in his Marilyn Monroe gold paintings, here Andy Warhol uses a silver background in order to reflect the glamorous icon status of the rock and roll superstar, while also using the color's opacity to easily mask and silkscreen various images on top of each other.
