ABOUT THE COW COLLECTIBLES
Painter Artist Annabel Church Smith's "Klimt Kow" sculpture is part of the official list of cow collectibles oft he Cowparade. She re-created, on a fiberglass mammal statue, the distinct style of renowned Austrian painter Gustav Klimt for CowParade Manchester, England 2004. The symbolism, as well as the sumptuous gold backgrounds and exotic swirling patterns, give this heifer a hide to remember. Annabel Church Smith is also a CowParade veteran because she painted five cows for CowParade London and two for CowParade Manchester. All cow collectibles come with a Certificate of Authenticity and a soft dust bag.
ABOUT THE COW PARADE EVENT
It is estimated that over 100 million people around the world have seen one our famous cows. Over $20 million have been raised through worldwide charitable organizations through the auction of the cows, which take place at the conclusion of each event. Over 5,000 artists worldwide have participated in CowParade - professional and amateur, famous and emerging, young and old. Nowadays, million of art lovers own a CowParade figurine, most of them own several cow collectibles.
Cows invaded Manchester, U.K from June 14, to September 12, 2004. Local artists painted a herd of 200 different life-size cows that staged in the streets of Manchester for three months. Indeed, Cow Parade art exhibit was the city "biggest ever art display. At that time, Manchester "declared itself as creative capital of the United Kingdom" as opposed to Liverpool's. The official website of the event "international organisers quoted the historian AJP Taylor "view that Manchester is the only English city which can look London in the face. Not merely as a regional capital but as a rival version of how men should live in a community." At the end of the 3-month exhibition, an auctioneer sold the cows. Fundraising auctions went finally to Manchester Kids charity.
