Ben-day dots printing technique consists in overlapping transparent dotted sheets in different colors to create shades, secondary colors or nice illusion effects. Roy Lichtenstein as an emblematic contributor to the Pop Art movement excelled in the use of Ben-Day dots in many of his artworks. His art is essentially inspired by 20th-century commercial styles and printing processes. He mixed Ben-day dots technique, use of stencils, primary colors, and comic books spirit to create something new and accessible to anyone. He finally imposed his own and unique hand-made Pop style art.
